Allied Trade Launched
New Cairns family business partnership Allied Trade is set to become a major player in Papua New Guinea (PNG) mining, education and business training and development.
Allied Trade was launched at the 26th Annual Papua New Guinea Business Trade Expo at Jupiter’s Casino in Townsville this week.
A coalition of three Cairns based businesses specialising in multimedia and web technology, educational resources, vehicle storage and freight forwarding, Allied Trade was developed in response to the current major economic development and business growth taking place in PNG.
Managing director Kevin Austin said Allied Trade’s comprehensive range of education, technology and business solutions was just the right mix for PNG and that his new coalition was well placed to work with PNG Government and business and supply organisations with the necessary resources to continue to develop at pace with the rest of the global economy.
He said that businesses in PNG have sometimes been burdened by unreliable internet services and educational products and are seeking new, more interesting ways to deliver training programs.
“We have come together with tried and true solutions to change all that.” Mr Austin said.
The Allied Trade’s team received an overwhelming response to their products and services at the Townsville trade show from delegates including Australian and PNG corporate and government decision makers, private executives, workplace trainers and business owners.
Mr Austin said the Allied Trade booth was described by many as the ‘star’ of the Townsville trade show thanks to their dynamic new interactive whiteboard technology that was on display.
“We were flat out all day. As soon as we turned the interactive whiteboard on people were asking how does that work? and lining up for their turn to touch and shift images on the interactive screen” Mr Austin said.
Interactive whiteboards are Allied Trade’s latest, most exciting product development.
Even though you can write on them with whiteboard markers and they look just like normal whiteboards, Allied Trade have proven that interactive whiteboards are so much more!
Powered by a computer and connected to the internet and/or a computer network, interactive whiteboards revolutionise corporate presentations, teaching, training, and information sharing environments by creating new opportunities for interactive learning and collaboration.
At the Trade Show we were able to have a bit of fun with it by loading satellite imagery from Google Earth and showing the PNG and interstate delegates satellite images of their homes, villages and work sites. Then we let our visitors email pictures and information to themselves straight from our interactive whiteboard Mr Austin said.
He said using Google Earth allowed our visitors to get a feel for the interactive whiteboard and by touching and dragging images across the screen, clicking links and moving from one window to another, many excitedly exclaimed to us that they could see how the product would make their training program, school education or corporate boardroom presentations so much more effective and interesting.
Allied Trade also displayed some of their custom built training software and educational videos such as Ready for the Road, interactive driver training software and an oil spill procedures and emergency rescue operations training video they shot and produced for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
Mr Austin said seeing Allied Trade’s software at work in conjunction with the interactive whiteboard really opened trade show delegates to the powerful possibilities and opportunities Allied Trade can deliver to their organisation, school or business.
Allied Trade’s Peplink internet load sharing technology was also a hit with PNG and Australian based Papua New Guinea Business Trade Expo delegates who are sometimes frustrated by internet service drop outs and dysfunctional, slow connections common in PNG and remote and regional Australia.
Allied Trade’s Peplink hardware allows users to simultaneously combine up to 13 different wireless, cable, satellite or 3G connections from multiple ISP’s and automatically distribute internet traffic between the various connections to eliminate internet service and connectivity problems.
“We couldn’t be happier with the response Allied Trade has received from PNG mining, health, education and government industries” said Mr Austin.
The overwhelming response we received at the Townsville trade show built on the success and relationships we forged during participation in Trade Queensland’s four day trade mission to PNG in February he said.
We are confident Allied Trade will be a key education, training, technology and storage solution provider of choice for mining, health, government and commerce in PNG over the next five years Mr Austin said.
